Some fun facts about me...

My first home computer used cassette tapes

I experienced a fascinating era of early personal computing—cassette tapes were common for home computers in the late 70s and early 80s. However, only in the early 90s it was possible for my parents to have one of these computers.

I learned traditional rug weaving in Nepal

During my visit to Kathmandu, Nepal, where I learned how to traditionally produce hand-knotted rugs, I stayed with a family of Tibetan monks. The culture and the nature of the Himalayan mountains have left a lasting impression on me.

I'm a fan of software (& hardware) updates

That's why I make it a point to watch most of the tech keynotes live - it's something I look forward to every year.

I studied German to be a teacher in Russia

I've always been very interested in languages. Before coming to Germany to study design, I studied German as a teacher at the Pedagogical University.

I love sewing with a sewing machine

I learned how to use a sewing machine at an early age, and it’s something that still brings me a lot of joy today.

Love it or eye-roll at it!

English, German, and Russian constantly mix and mingle in my brain, creating a quirky blend of multilingual mishaps. I keep a list of my funniest mishearings or reinterpretations, also known as eggcorns.
